After signing on the dotted line Tom was delighted to be back home at the club. On an emotional evening, McGuire had a few words of thanks, “The thing that sealed the deal for me was the funding of my new teeth by the Chairman, Pat Cahill, so I could smile again at the press conference”.
It remains to be seen if the final members of the old Saracens team will return to the fold before the transfer deadline.
4 of the old squad are definitely unavailable; Joe Campbell is unable to play currently, although he is very much a part of the squad, James “Brady” Bradshaw has retired on the back of the cup success a few years ago, Vadimir “The Impaler” is still on the run after being deported and Gary “Sharon’s Favourite” Callaway has since been turned into a chicken!
More breaking transfer news, summer signing Chris Hurley, who brought in for a big fee to take place between the sticks this season, went awol in pre season however he has since been found and is now back to match fitness. This weekend’s cup game could see the giant also make his debut.
This is good news as long as Tom doesn't play up front.
ReplyDeleteStatement from the Chairman:
ReplyDeleteAlthough our recent form has been good and we have strung together a number of wins since the opening day defeat (which was no fault of the lads) I have to question the wisdom of our manager, Scott "Horse" Bennison. None of the top sides have a Scottish footballer representing them (with the exception of Fletcher at United which I believe is more to do with the managers nationality)! If I wanted an average side with average signings I would have brought the other Winkfield side or even Atletico Priestwood, not the mighty Saracens. An average Scottish footballer who has been without a club this season is hardly going to bring the fans flocking through the gates of Locksride. If this situation isn't changed and the manager isn't capable of bringing in the big name signings I want in the near future I will have to look at the possibility of terminating his contract and bringing in a higher profile name who will. We are in negotiations with another striker/winger but if this signing should fall through because of the manager then I will have to have a long think about his future!
On another note, if that expensive misfit striker (we will call him Wallum Citty to avoid naming names) doesnt start hitting the target with free kicks then the duties will be passed on to my son. I will also be pushing for a 4-3-3 formation to be implemented soon as the only person in our entire squad who is going score from crosses is Browny and I want us to start playing more like the Arsenal!
Thank you
Dr Patrickem Al Bin-Cahillbaduhl
I have looked into the comments made by our chairman/pornstar and knowing him personally he would not make comments on the nationality of players. I agree we can't all play up front but the talk of mr s cahill playing there just seems like a joke, and if it happens at any point I will take it as a breech of my contract!
